General Secretary Islamabad Estate Agents Association Chaudhry Zahid Rafique has said that vertical constructions have become inevitable and the government should include them in its priorities. Affordable housing, long-term housing finance from banks and better urban planning have also become the need of the hour. In developed countries, low-income people also buy houses through 15 to 20-year loans from banks and Pakistan should also adopt the same model. He welcomed the government’s reduction in withholding tax on the purchase and sale of property and the abolition of Section 7E and said that building or buying a house is still a big challenge for the common man because housing finance is expensive. Banks must provide housing finance on long-term and easy terms.
